Meet our Newest Colorado Bridge Engineer Jolie Snyder!

Welcome Jolie Snyder, PE, Transportation Project Manager, Colorado Springs, CO with photo of Jolie

Meet Jolie Snyder, one of our newer Project Engineers in the Colorado Springs Office! Jolie’s area of expertise is in transportation design, with a focus on structures.

Learn more about Jolie's background, skill set, and interests in the Q&A section below.

Q: Tell us about your background.

A: I was previously working in Madison, Wisconsin for the past four years and I have experience working with both WisDOT and local municipalities throughout Wisconsin. My experience has mainly been focused on the engineering and management of bridge replacement/rehabilitation projects. As part of these projects, I also handled the environmental permitting process and all utility coordination.

Q: What projects are you currently working on? Anything particularly interesting you can share about one of the projects?

A: One of my main focuses right now is a project that we are working closely with Meeting the Challenge, Inc. a CP&Y Company (MTC) for the City of Littleton in Colorado. I am helping to provide cost estimates and potential solutions on how to make the city’s sidewalks and curb ramps within their right-of-way compliant with the ADA requirements. This is a particularly interesting project for me, because before we acquired MTC, accessibility wasn’t something I had given a lot of thought to when designing a new bridge or stretch of roadway. However, after discussions with our partners at MTC, I have realized just how important it is to think about those with disabilities during the design process, in order to ensure everyone has safe access to our transportation facilities.

Q: What attracted you to CP&Y? Why did you join the company?

A: I was first attracted to CP&Y because it is located in such a beautiful state [of Colorado]. However, after getting to talk with my future partners, I realized that CP&Y is a group of highly talented down to earth people, that are very passionate about helping the communities they live in. The culture at CP&Y has made me feel extremely welcome and at home.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Sam, our 4-year-old son, Aaron, and our energetic mutt, Rocky. We love to be outdoors hiking or camping whenever the weather is nice (and in Colorado, that is fortunately most of the time!). I also enjoy just driving through the mountains with no specific destination in mind and taking in the sights. There is still so much we haven’t seen here yet.
