Tollways

Loop 1/SH 45/US 183
CP&Y provided long range planning work and GEC services for approximately 24-miles of new location freeway/turnpike in northwest Austin and surrounding areas. This project, with an estimated construction cost of $800 million, was a combination of turnpike and freeway facilities which are designed to help alleviate traffic problems in one of the fastest growing areas of Texas.
NTTA Toll-Plaza Design
The toll-plaza project included four Mainlane Barrier Plazas/Operations Buildings and 28 Ramp Toll Plazas, which provide the design for all the toll collection and ancillary facilities along the overall 24-mile tollway project in Northern Dallas and Southern Collin Counties. CP&Y provided six separate civil PS&E packages to support the toll-plaza architectural plans and coincide with roadway construction plans of the adjacent section engineer.

Dallas North Tollway Phase 3 Extension
CP&Y, as prime consultant, provided PS&E services for the extension of the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) from north of State Highway 121 to just south of Lebanon Road in Frisco, Texas (Section XI-S). The PS&E design detailed the construction of 1.8-miles of the six-lane wide toll road extension and included the design of bridge structures at Gaylord Pkwy, John Hickman Pkwy, and Warren Pkwy. The project also included the planning for future construction of additional lanes with minimal impact to traffic operations.

President George Bush Turnpike
CP&Y completed final PS&E work on five different sections of the President George Bush Turnpike on a variety of different assignments. The major work categories include detailed hydraulic studies and drainage plans, site plans, illumination plans, ITS plans, complex traffic control and construction sequencing plans, paving and grading plans, bridge plans (including the design of a 15-span direct connector bridge in the LBJ Interchange) and retaining wall plans.
